A unique 2 bedroom luxury log cabin built in the traditional Norwegian “stavlaft” style characterised by massive timber frames, knotted timber walls, heavy roof beams and pillars with carvings, completed with a living roof.
The Cabin is newly built and contains all the modern comforts you would expect from a Scandinavian holiday home including under floor heating and a cosy log fire. The south facing living room extends into a covered terrace perfect for observing the local wildlife.
Surrounded by ancient oaks the cabin sits in parkland overlooking the Tay valley. The turf roof makes the structure blend into its surroundings giving it a real sense of belonging.
Nestled in the heart of the Perthshire country-side, the cabin is perfectly located for a week long holiday or a weekend break. It is within easy reach of both Edinburgh and Glasgow, being about 1 hour away by car.
The location offers plenty of opportunities from the cabin door for outdoor pursuits such as walking along the river Tay, cycling in the Tay Forest Park or angling in the famous waters of the Tay catchment. The area is perfectly situated for the keen golfer with lots of options in Perthshire and beyond. Nearby there are also plenty of options for thrill seeking enthusiasts such as white water rafting on the River Tummel or bungee jumping at Killiecrankie.
The Cabin is situated only 5 miles up river from the historic town of Dunkeld and exploring this picturesque village is within easy reach. Beautifully situated beside the River Tay, Dunkeld is thought to have Scotland’s most romantic cathedral .
The Cabin is situated on our working small holding (Kirk Park Farm). We have free range poultry, and we hope you will enjoy having a look around and interacting with our animals. Complimentary eggs from our flock of chickens are available most of the year.
We are based in the small hamlet of Dalguise, once the summer holiday residence for Beatrix Potter and her family.
On our smallholding there is also a market garden business (Homegrown Food and Flowers). Fresh salad, flowers and vegetables are available in season.
